You get one vaccine shot. Make it count.

Infection is a fast, one-button arcade game. A hundred bugs bounce around the screen. You have a single jab to fire per level. Drop it in the right place and the vaccine sets off a chain reaction: every bug it touches bursts into a new expanding blast that takes out the next, and the next.

Clear at least **70%** of the bugs to pass the level. Wipe them all out for a **Complete Vaccination** bonus. But every level gets harder: fewer bugs, so fewer chances for the chain to catch.

How to play

- Click (any mouse button) to fire your one vaccine shot per level.

- Pop at least 70% of the bugs to move on.

- Score 5 x level for every bug, a clear-the-level bonus, and a bigger bonus for a perfect run.

- Get on the high score table and type your name.

About

Infection was written by me, Tony Brice. It started in June 2010 as a graphics test for chain reactions on moving objects and grew into a game, originally built in BlitzMax for the one-button-press game challenge. It has now been rebuilt in Java with libGDX so it can run on modern Macs, and later on Windows and iPad.

The game grew out of a simple Flash chain-reaction game found online.

Credits

- Design, code, art: Tony Brice

- Beta testing: Aaron Thorne

- Title music: public-domain tune (original artist uncredited)

- Built with [libGDX](https://libgdx.com/)

Please note that this is pretty much a line for line conversion. I deliberately made no changes or improvements to the original BlitzMax version of the game. It's very simple but I've never given it out on a public portal previously, so why not now.
